Our clients have a charming 1935 single family home in the heart of Minneapolis. However, they were in need of a transformation in their main bath that would increase the functionality and update the style and cotton pink tile while staying true to the period of the home. |

The existing bath had very limited lighting, making important morning routines such as applying make up and shaving a daily challenge. |

Minimal storage in this 45 square foot bath was a definite issue in the existing bath. We solved this issue by replacing the pedestal sink with a vanity cabinet, and replacing the old medicine cabinet with a wall unit that incorporate a mirror flanked by shallow wall cabinets. |
The style of the tile application was dated with pink tiles and small mosaics, but overall is an important design element of the period. |
With an emphasis on the importance of the period of the home, we added an overall fresh application of tile which included 1”x 1” iridescent glass mosaics on the floor and shower. A wide chair rail height band was added that draws the eye around the room bringing a fresh new element of detail in this room. |
The final details of this makeover include a butter yellow wall paint adding a sunny, colorful note while keeping the room light. A custom slatted door conceals the radiator and a new 3” ceiling cove molding makes a more formal, traditional statement. |
